How can I manage and edit footers all at once across each different Space?

Richard McBride March 1, 2022

A lot (but not all) of our documentation has contact information at the bottom which changes semi-frequently.

We have hundreds of docs, so rather going in and adjusting each one individually; is there a way I could edit one footer and it will updates all footers across the Space?

ie Company number or address in footer were to change, would I have to adjust each one?

I am not a Global Admin on my corporate Confluence Cloud and was thinking maybe there is an app or macro that could be approved and I could do this work.

Hi @Richard McBride

Our app Scroll Viewport enables you to create a help center from one or more spaces, where you can customize the header and footer.

If you don't want all of your docs on the site, you could use our other app, Scroll Documents, to select the pages you're interested in and add them to a Scroll Document. A document is a way to manage the content of a group of pages. You could then only put those pages on your help site with the custom header and footer.

@Richard McBride I did not understand your question as you had said "We have hundreds of docs, so rather going in and adjusting each one individually; is there a way I could edit one footer and it will updates all footers across the Space?".

I assumed you were looking for this on a space level. There is no individual page header/footer macro or add-on that I know of. If this is specific to PDF exports, k15t has a good app - https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/7019/scroll-pdf-exporter-for-confluence?hosting=cloud&tab=overview.

Thanks, it's not exactly what I'm looking for. But if we are exporting docs this will be very helpful. Thank you for looking into this for me

@Richard McBride Headers and Footers are controlled in the Space Settings. You don't need to be a Global Admin to make changes to Space settings.

You can add or adjust Headers and Footers by going to the Space Settings (in left pane) then in the Look and Feel section select Page Layout.
