How can I see ‘Include Page’ or ‘Excerpt’ Macro changes on an authored page when ‘Comparing Selected Versions’?

Hello,

We need to reuse content on several documents and in order to do so, I have created an InclusionsLibrary.

I have created a page with some of these Inclusions and need to see what has been changed when these inclusions are updated/modified in the authored page when I choose Page History and Compare Selected Versions.

Any suggestions, assistance is appreciated…

Hi Sofia,

with the new side-by-side compare functionality in Scroll Documents you should be able to see the included content when comparing two document versions.

I just tried comparing a page with an include and in my test everything worked as expected.

If you continue seeing the error you mentioned in your last message, could you please reach out to us via support@k15t.com, ideally sending a XML export of the affected page, so we can further investigate the issue?

Unfortunately, it's not working for us :(

As per your suggestion, I have emailed an XML export of the affected page to the support team. Looking forward to getting it fixed.

I love that you've already created an inclusions library; such a great technique for content reuse.

Are you looking to see the images visually to see what's changed or do you just need a change log?

If a simpler change log will work for you, you may be interested in the version reports in the Scroll Versions app. The app is intended for managing space-wide versions of content for technical documentation and such, but might be what you're looking for.

Thanks for your response - I really really need to 'see the images/content visually to see what's changed'... so instead of seeing the inclusions, I need to see the actual text.

Unfortunately, I am not able to use the Scroll Versions app as I need the Cloud Version. I have tried using Scroll Documents but when comparing versions got the following error:
