How can I see confluence cloud usage data?

phil_brown August 7, 2019

We have two spaces with almost identical content (one was replicated from the other), but one has been organised. Both have further individual contributions. I want to make a delta between them and merge them into a single organised space, so what I want to do is:
- See what differences there are in terms of pages in each space
- see who is using each space, and how much

There was an add-on that would allow you to see usage data in Confluence (users viewing and editing specific pages), but the company was recently purchased by Atlassian, and the analytics functionality is now an integrated part of Confluence Cloud Premium.  Maybe you could test drive Confluence Premium to see if it would help?

That could work, but bear in mind that the usage in Cloud isn't retrospective (unless Atlassian have changed how the analytics works, now that the add-on is part of their premium offering, although it still probably wouldn't capture views from the past).

For comparing the differences between these spaces, there is nothing out of the box that will do this (unfortunately the Content Report Table won't help, unless you've labelled all your pages).

There is a Contributors Macro and Contributors Summary Macro that may help, but won't give you usage of non-contributors.

However, this information could be provide using the API. You might also find a third-party comparison tool to do this and perhaps try exporting each space to HTML, XML, or PDF format then comparing the output.
