In my space I have one branch of pages the are open for editing by all with the appropriate space permissions and all other branches of pages need to be restricted for editing. How can I do that without setting editing permissions to every single page?
Hi @Herold Peijs - welcome to this wonderful community
If you set permissions on a page this permissions count for all childpages! So you can easily set restrictions for editing on main page and all child pages are restricted too. So the whole branch under the page is restricted.
Thanks for the quick response @Fabienne Gerhard
I know this does work for view restrictions, but child pages do not give the indication that they have inherited edit restrictions as they do for view restrictions.

Hi @Herold Peijs - sorry you are right, I've overread this.
Which version on-prem are you working with? I know it's known issue (see one of many tickets) I asked for Confluence version cause as you can see there is a mentioned solution from Atlassian from 7.3 on. There is also mentioned app (Edit Permission Inheritance) which you maybe wanna give a try (didn't try it, but sounds interesting).
What would be my workaround would be creating a group so that you don't have to put in all users one by one.... but that's maybe not the solutions you were looking for.

Thanks @Fabienne Gerhard. We are still working on version 7.2.0. Let's upgrade first and if that does not provide the required solution, I will consider the add-on.
