How can i make content public for anonymous users?

Yulian Skobalo February 26, 2025

Hello, I tried to make my confluence fully public, but unfortunately, I can't... I want people to see all my content, but instead, they see only the main page. Pleas help me ASAP, because that's very important to me

I fixed the problem, thank you all so much! The problem was, that I was copying the main page public link (red color), not the default (yellow color) link. Screenshot 2025-02-26 120035.png

Hi have you set the space to anonymous? You would need to be a site admin to do this

  1. Go to the space you want to make public.
  2. Select Space settings.
  3. In the Space permissions card, select Anonymous access.
  4. Select Edit.
  5. Check boxes under any of the available space permissions you want to give anonymous users. ...
  6. Select Save

Hope that helps!

@Yulian Skobalo

This is a public community forum, so we can't really call you as most of us do not represent Atlassian as such.

We're a bunch of enthusiast who are sharing their knowledge an try to help other users.

Anyway,

I reviewed the answers and it seems they cover everything

  • allow anonymous access on the Confluence site level
  • allow anonymous users to view the space

I have the exact same setup on my private Confluence and it works.

What I can think of...

  • individual public links conflict with anonymous access
  • you applied restrictions on the page level
  • pages in your page tree are not properly slotted under Home page (root page)
    • to check this
      1. Go to Space settings
      2. In Content, click Reorder.
      3. Your page tree should look like this:
        2025-02-26_11-29-22.png
    • The Orange page is your space's home page, root page. All other pages need to be 'child pages'.

If everything fails, then it's something we cannot asses as it's an unknown unknown for us and we cannot access your Confluence.

You can always contact https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/ - after you fill in the basic details, you'll be able to start a chat with a real person to get fast response.

You need to change Space and Global permissions.

Check the Loom ^^

Hi @Yulian Skobalo and welcome,

it seems that you make your instance public but you need to verify that specific space/s is/are accessible by anonymous users. In order to do that please follow this article https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/make-a-space-public/

Hope this clarifies,

Fabio

Hi, I have turned on anonymous view, but it didn't help. User can see only main page, without any content that is in the Screenshot 2025-02-26 112949.pngside panel

Hi @Yulian Skobalo , as said by @Lucas Modzelewski _Lumo_ check the global permissions

Manage anonymous access

By enabling anonymous access on your Confluence instance, any space admin will be able to make their space accessible by anonymous users (aka, anyone on the internet). “Anonymous" users are anyone who hasn’t logged into their account, whether they have an account or not.

To enable anonymous access, go to the Anonymous access tab, click Edit, and check Use Confluence. (Don’t forget to save changes.)

You can also determine whether anonymous users can view the user profiles of licensed users.

Enabling individual spaces for anonymous access must be done in space settings.

Anonymous access doesn’t affect your license count.

Learn more about anonymous access.

Check my screenshot please, am I on the anonymous access tab? If yes, then I don't see "use confluence" option

Yulian Skobalo February 26, 2025

Well, i have found that option, but it was enabled((Screenshot 2025-02-26 115020.png

Yulian Skobalo February 26, 2025

Maybe somebody can call me and help? Because that's really difficult to fix this problem in chat((
