How do I add CSS to a SINGLE Space within confluence enterprise?

Nate M May 12, 2025

With confluence server, it was easy to include css or html that spanned over the full space as a space administrator.  I don't see a way to do this in confluence cloud.  I don't want to involve site admins just to change a theme that would only apply to one space.

Please bring this feature back or provide a back door method of changing the css for the space within Enterprise.

hi @Nate M

You can change the theme of a particular in the space administration: https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/apply-a-theme-to-a-space/

You can also customize a bit the space layout with custom header and footer by using wiki markup to add text, links, macros and images (from the web or attached to a page in the space). You can do that in space admin > look and feel > layout.

Unfortunately, you cannot add custom CSS in Cloud...

I hope this help a bit.

With Confluence Cloud, you can't add CSS, and Atlassian is very unlikely build functionality to allow this.

Hi @Nate M

As was mentioned before, there is no CSS in Confluence Cloud, but it is much easier to add branding to page elements (in comparison with the Data Center way of customisation).  For example, in this live demo, you can see how your brand kit can be easily applied to formatting macros of Mosaic

Please let me know if you have any questions, Mosaic app was created by my team :)

Hi @Nate M

Both @Dam and @marc -Collabello--Phase Locked- are correct - you have very limited options to changing the look of Confluence.

You can use an app - Aura or Mantra for example, depending on the extent of what you want to achieve - but this involves an admin.

Then there's this: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/confluence/create-a-confluence-theme/

But I think we're entering the realm of creating a custom app here...
