How do I add a Space Shortcut to a company used Space?

I have admin rights for our confluence site and am trying to Consolidate the Space most readily used. I am trying to add shortcuts to that Space, but there is no 'edit' icon at the bottom. I am only able to add space shortcuts in my personal space.

Hi Erin,

It is possible to be a Confluence administrator without having admin rights to a specific space. Please go to Confluence Admin>Space Permissions and check the permissions on the space by clicking Manage Permissions next to the space where the edit icon is not appearing.
