I've been using Confluence for years. But the format has changed. The getting started page says "click create" and add a page. Where is create? This is so annoying and frustrating.
I contacted Atlassian and it turns out that there was a bug in my instance. This has been fixed and I now see the Create button at the top of the page. I also see my dashboard as the login page, which I didn't before.
Hello Ian,
please take a look here to easily find "create" button https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Creating+Content
Hope this helps,
Fabio

Thanks, Fabio. This is helpful. I still don't understand why I don't see the button. Perhaps this is because I'm editing from the Administrator account and I need to create a user account for myself and edit from there. But I don't see this button in the mode that I'm in. Yet I can edit pages. I just can't add a child page.

Hi Ian,
probably you haven't grant to add pages. Please take a look here https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Space+Permissions+Overview.
Your user should have add permission otherwise you can't view the create button.

Fabio

I think that this may be a misunderstanding of the structure on my part.
On the main page, which is apparently the parent of all of the spaces, I've been wanting to add a sub-page. But I think that what it wants is for me to add a sub-space (at least at this level).
I suspect that part of the disconnect is that Confluence has evolved into an enterprise application. What I really want to do with it is document the project that I'm working on. I am not at the enterprise level let. So I just want a main page and a bunch of sub-pages.
I did check my space permissions and I do have permission to add pages.
Anyway, thanks for your patient answers.

There is a 'Create' button on the top navigation bar. Hard to miss that one!

"Hard to miss". Well, apparently not. I don't see it.
Perhaps the problem is that I am using the administrator account. I don't know.
I do not see a "Create" button.
Fabio's link was helpful. At least I see an example of the Create button, which does not appear in the administrator account.

Can you check if you have the permissions to add content atleast one space? You can also create a personal space and see if the button appears after that.
