How do I ask for permission to be able to create space

I can't create a Team Space, the only space I'm able to create is my own personal space

You need to ask your Confluence administrator to grant you this permission.

It is part of the Global Permissions.

In the Confluence cloud, you need the “Create Space” global permission to create a team or project space. Please refer to this https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/manage-global-permissions/#Assign-global-permissions-for-licensed-users for more details.

Please reach out to your Confluence admin or site admin, and they will be able to help you out on this.
