I tried it with the the 'Number Headings' and 'Content Formatting' add-ons to simulate what'll happen if a macro is not supported anymore. So I deactivated the add-ons and the associated macros I were using just show a yellow box with 'macro unknown'. Okay, but I can't extract the content within the macros. When the same happend with add-ons/macros in Confluence 3.5, for the reason add-ons were incompatible, I saw at the page view an error message, but I was still able to get the content form the macros when I switched to the Markup-Tab in the editor.
Is there a solution to this?
You should be able to view the content by checking the View Storage Format option in the Tools menu (Confluence 4 onwards). It will be in XML form, and so expect some encoding, but the content should be there.
