How do I manually order Child pages in the Child Display Macro in Confluence?

I have successfully re-ordered my pages using the content tools within settings. However on my list index page, they don't reflect this reordered list.

Hi Euan, 

Check to see if the Children Display macro has one of the Sort Children By options enabled as that will overwrite the manual sorting you've specified in the Content Tools.
