Cloud inserts the table that takes the whole width of the page
while i need to insert a small table (something that could take 1/3 of the width of the page for example).
I have a page with lots of tables and the size of them resets every time i edit a page. Do you know how to avoid that?
You can restrict the table width by adding a page divider control. You can add the table to one section only and then it will be as wide only as that section.
Sometimes a table gets too wide when adding columns to it and a horizontal scroll bar appears. This does not get fixed when saving the page.
I found that when I move this table to a divided screen portion, it will resize it to the width of that part. I can play with the column width here.
Then I copy the table back to an undivided screen and alas! It is back to normal screen width without the horizontal scroll.
Voting for this as well. It is very cumbersome/limiting not to be able to resize tables.

Hello Valeryia,
Welcome to Atlassian Community!
Since the new editor was released, when we add tables on a page there is no option to add a custom width. It's possible to change the size of the columns, but not the entire table.
There is a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:
Please, click on vote and watch to receive updates about the feature.

Any update on this?
It's 2022 almost 2023 now... it seems to be still an issue...
