How do I view\modify permission to import a word doc in Confluence?

Chad Lane March 18, 2015

I have a user who has edit right to a space with no page restrictions, but when she tries to import a word document she gets a message saying that she is not permitted to perform this action.  She gets this message after she browses for and selects her file just after clicking next.  Any suggestions on what would cause this?

If a user has create/edit rights, then they can import a Word document.

It's a waste of time restricting it - if I have create/edit, then there's nothing to stop me simply copying and pasting from Word into Confluence, and then wasting time correcting the formatting that the import handles a bit better.

Check the maximum size of attachment in Confluence and also the size of the word document you are trying to import, if the attachment size is more, then you will get a Not permitted error.
