How do you delete a new glossary letter you have added?

I just started trialing the Glossary add-on in Confluence. I have two questions around adding letters to the glossary (those other than the original 26 alphabet letters).

  1. I added a new letter, just to test it, and I'd like to delete this new letter. I cannot find a way to do this. Can you advise how I can delete this letter?
  2. We have terms that begin with numbers (such as '8by5'). What would be the best way to identify a new letter for terms that begin with numbers? Do I just add several new letters (say, "1,", "2", "3", etc.) or one generic letter (such as "123")? Any ideas?

Hi Clay,

  1. I'm glad to hear it worked smile
  2. It would be great to put you in touch with Anis, but the only way to talk to him is raising a question here in Atlassian Answers using the label/tag "addon-fr.spectrumgroupe.confluence.plugins.glo"

Hi Guilherme,

  1. I was able to delete the page containing my test "bogus letter," so thanks for this advice. I guess I didn't realize that each letter is a page in itself.
  2. I'm still not sure what to do about my issue with adding glossary terms or letters that begin with a numeric. Can you put me in touch with Anis Othman or someone on staff? Surely, I'm not the only person who has ever had this type of request. Thanks.

Hey Clay,

  1. Did you create a page test when you created the Glossary? Because you could just delete this page test and start a new one with a new Glossary. I don't know why you can't delete the letter even if you are an admin-user.

  2. You could try to speak with Anis Othman.

Thanks for your input. Here are additional questions and/or feedback.

  1. I had created the "test" letter but had added no terms for it. Therefore, there are no terms to delete for my letter. I don't want this bogus letter to be viewed/seen by our users, as it will stand out as a glaring error in the navigation bar. If the letter has no terms under it, will it still display for users? If so, that is not desirable AT ALL. I just added it as a test, not knowing I'd maybe have to live with seeing that bogus letter displayed in nav bar. Please tell that this bogus letter is not viewable to others in the nav bar in these circumstances. Why cannot it allow you to delete admin user- added letters?
  2. I'm disappointed that you cannot add a numeric as a letter. For my team, there are MANY terms/acronyms that begin with letters and no alpha letter applies. I don't know which nav letter would make sense to add such acronyms/terms. Is there any way to have this issue addressed by the vendor/developers of this Glossary add-on?

Hi Clay,

1. To delete the letter, go to the letter page you want to delete, click on Edit and remove the Glossary Term.
You can't delete the letter, but you can delete the terms that you created for that letter.

2. I've been doing some tests with Glossary, and Glossary doesn't let you create terms that start with numbers. Your terms will have to start with the corresponding glossary letter.

Example: On 'A' letter, your terms with numbers will have to be like this -> "A123".

Let us know if you have any questions we can help you with.

Thanks and regards,
