I want to create a table which can perform basic addition and subtraction?

Is it possible on Confluence without any scripting?

Hi @santosh.srirangam ,

We can suggest trying the app that we develop - Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets for Confluence.

You'll be able to show totals and perform other basic calculations using the Table Filter macro. Subtraction, multiplication, and so on can be done with the help of the Table Transformer macro.

These macros work with native Confluence tables.

But if you prefer Excel-style cell formulas, use the Table Spreadsheet macro and bring the spreadsheet functionality right to your Confluence pages.

If you are not familiar with the app, please book a live demo with the team - we'll discuss your use cases and give some hints.

Hi @santosh.srirangam before I suggest the best approach could you let me know

  1. Do you need to calculate between individual cells (e.g. A1 + B1, row by row)?
  2. Or would you rather apply a single formula to an entire column at once?

For example, say your Column A has a list of numbers and you want to multiply each by 3. Would it be more useful to type something like = A * 3 in the column header and have every row calculate that automatically, or would you prefer entering a formula in each cell (e.g. =A1*3, =A2*3, etc.)?

Hello Santosh,

Unfortunately, there is currently no built-in functionality to perform any calculations in a Confluence table. You can use Inline Table Editing app, where you can find more than 200 formulas next to basic calculations.
I am the Product Owner of this app, and I would be happy to help you. If you have any questions, you can book a demo here.

Best,
Zhenya

Hi there :)

Welcome to the group! 🥳

So far, there is no way to calculate directly within Confluence tables. But there are some add-ons (no scripting), you can get to have such a functionality. I like the Inline Table Editing.
