Masaru Suzuoki February 19, 2020

Hi,

i was looking on how to disable baseURL for newer confluence version.
for version 6 there is a way (https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/can-t-check-base-url-warning-in-confluence-6-6-or-later-939718433.html)

but for newer confluence like what we use 7.3.1. there is no disable option for baseURL.

we need this as we are behind a proxy (cloudflare)

any help is appreciated. thanks

Hey Masaru,

I know this is an older question, but I wanted to provide an answer for anyone else who comes across it.

Defining a base URL is required for using Confluence behind a reverse proxy or load balancer. This configuration allows you to set the public facing URL that is used to contact the reverse proxy forwarding requests to Confluence.

The original question links to a health check function in Confluence that checks whether the URL being used to access Confluence in the browser matches the base URL configured in Confluence. This particular health check error will only appear if the configuration is in the Tomcat connector is somehow incorrect (usually malformed or incomplete).

The health check attempts to build the proper configuration values for the Tomcat connector using the URL being used to access Confluence and provides them in the pop-out.

For users encountering this issue, I'd suggest reviewing the Proxy and HTTPs Setup for Confluence guide to ensure your configuration is correct.

This health check should not be ignored.

Hopefully this helps.
