Confluence offers the ability to upload Excel files and to embed them for viewing via the Excel Macro. Excel files cannot, however, be imported as pages, and pages cannot be exported as Excel files. Furthermore, it is not possible to edit Excel files directly in Confluence.
Instead, the way this is handled is by downloading a temporary copy of the file, editing it in Office locally, and then re-uploading it to Confluence.
If your version of Confluence is self-hosted (Server) you will be able to use the Edit in Office feature to achieve this.
In the Cloud version of Confluence, the Office Connector from Microsoft has been replaced with the Atlassian Companion App which fulfills the same duties.
