How to modify creation date of pages correctly

What is the preferred way of alter the creation date of some pages in a space? Is there a built in plugin to do this? If not how can i do this correctly. What do i have to think of when doing this - any cavats?

Hi Thomas,

I don't know a way to alter the creation date of a page. I think you'll get problems with the page history after changing the creation date. In our company, we would not allow such things.

Do you have a special reason for this ? Maybe there's another way to find a solution for your problem.

A customer of us wants to alter the creation date of some pages back in time so they do not show up in the "new" tab of the spaces makro. And in some cases they want a earlier written page to show up on top of a custom written "news" widget on the Dashboard, when for instance a "news" was written in one space and gets moved into a "public" space. I know it is not really encouraged to do so, but our customer wants to have it in this way.

I have also said like you that it is not good to do so and problems could arise sooner or later.

But anyway, i am thankful for any hints either of how to do it in a "safe" way or why it shouldn't be done.
