How to place text over an image map in exact spot?

I am looking if there are any good ways to place text in an exact place in an image map? I have an image map as a navigation element embedded in a Confluence Wiki page. I am looking for options to be able to place a box of text over the image that can easily be changed or updated without having to create the image each time to update the text. I was looking to see if this could be done with CSS or jQuery.

You can put the text in a Div macro and add the background image CSS in a Style macro.

One idea is to use an image map generator, such as CoffeeCup (http://www.coffeecup.com/image-mapper/). You'd need to manipulate the HTML outside Confluence, and paste it in each time you need to change it.

Another option is to use Gliffy, a Confluence plugin (https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.gliffy.integration.confluence). Instead of using an HTML image map, you could use a fully-fledged Gliffy image which includes the pictures, text, links, and/or diagram elements that you need. This also means that other people can easily edit the image, changing the text and other elements within the web browser without having to access the image map HTML outside Confluence.

Hi Sarah, where can I test Gliffy? I have trial Confluence OnDemand account, but I cannot create Gliffy diagrams there, I can only import them. I'm interested in testing the image map through Gliffy.
