Our company is starting a new project with much input/updates from external parties. Can we provide them access to our Company Confluence project space without them having an Active Directory account within our company ?
(sorry for my ignorance - i'm a novice user)
Hi there,
you can try to add their users to confluence directly.
I hope that helps.
Let me try to make it more concrete:
we want to give User-1@company-X.com access to a confluence space at our company-A: https://company-A/confluence/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=EAMPLE.
What do we need to do for this 'User-1' in order to gain access and contribute to this space ? (without that user having an Active Directory entry at company-A)
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
Can you add them directly to Confluence?
Like here: https://confluence.atlassian.com/doc/add-and-invite-users-138313.html
And ideally, they would be part of the Jira user directory.
Then you can add them to groups or project roles circumventing the active directory users/groups.
Let me know if this works. If not we'll think of other ways.
