Hyperlink files from harddrive into confluence?

Hey guys, 

is it possible to just create a hyperlink from an existing file on a (shared) drive? 

I want to avoid to upload the file and I just would like to link it into a certain topic. I didn't find a different option so far. 

Is that possible?

Hi, 

you can create a file link like that:

file://path/to/file/filename

But, this kind of link only works in Microsoft Browsers, with Chrome and Firefox, you need to install extensions.
