I can attach a file to a page, but the file becomes corrupted when I delete the local copy

mario.munich March 11, 2022

I have pages in confluences with a number of file attachments (usually pdfs). Confluence is able to generate the preview and, I assumed, upload the file to be available in storage in case that the file is needed to be visualized. If I delete the local copy of the file in my computer, then the file becomes corrupted in Confluence. This did not use to happen in the past.

I think that I understand the problem better now, how long does it take for the uploaded files to be present in the cloud? It seems that the problem is that the Confluence page was relying on the local files for some time and I was deleting them before they were synch to the cloud. Also, why isn't there an indication that the file is not fully uploaded?

Hi @mario.munich ,

Welcome to Atlassian community.

Which version of confluence ? I tested on 7.13.0 server and I do not see this behaviour, even after deleting the PDF locally, I was able to download the PDF from confluence and use it.

Does it give any error when tried to access ? probably a screen recording will help in this case I believe .

Thanks,

Srinath T

How do I check the version of Confluence? I will get some screen shoots in a minute.
