IE8 problem in Confluence 4.2.3

Hi All,

we have a weird problem with our Confluence.

Many users using IE8 get a 'Page cannot connected' error page when navigating to the login page of our Confluence. The problem is weird because this occurs in Internet Explorer 8 version 8.0.6001 but in Internet Explorer 8 version 8.0.700X the Confluence runs perfectly.

By the wy we have to links to our Confluence: an internal and an external. These users get error only in the external URL and the internal works.

What can be wrong with the IE8?

Can you please help because some users can only IE8 using.

If you have corporate standards that disable scripting or cookies on IE8 installations that are outside the firewall, that could be the source of the issue. First place I would go is the IT department and see what they say.
