Hi Guys,
Need your expert advise in understanding Restrictions concept in Confluence
in our Confluence system, we have applied restriction on Space homepage like people which are group jira group can view this space.
does it override Space permission?
like in space permission confluence-users group is added with add page permission and other permission.
Does confluence users won’t be able to see the space in this case ?
Correct, page view restrictions override your space settings. So if your space allows Confluence users to view the space but you restrict the home page to only jira-users, then only Confluence users that belongs to jira-users will be able to access the space.
I remember a team that set view restrictions on the homepage, and I had to tell them every time they said someone could not access the space that it was because of the view restrictions.
So my recommendation is to not use view restrictions on the home page, if you need to restrict a space then do it with space permissions and only use view restrictions when you really need it.
