Indenting macros was possible on server, not working in Cloud?

Hi,

I'm trying to build a structure like the following:

- a list

- inside the list, under one bullet point to have an "expand macro" or a table.

So far the table/expand macro always ignores the alignment and appears from the start of the row with 0 possibility of moving it to the right.

On the server / DC version I remember this always worked.

Is there any way to do it in the Cloud version of Confluence?

This seems like such a basic feature that I'm amazed it does not just plainly work.
The Cloud version seems to be far behind the older Server one I used to work with.

Hello Mihai,

Welcome to Atlassian Community, and thank you for submitting your question. It's nice to have you join us.

I understand you discovered you couldn't embed an Expand macro within a list in Confluence Cloud's new editor. The reason is that the new Confluence editor doesn't support adding macros inside a numbered or bullet list. See Convert pages to the new editor to learn the differences between the Legacy and the new editor.

We have an open feature request for embedding macros in lists below:

  • CONFCLOUD-67862  Bring back the option to add macros within a numbered or bulleted list

In the meantime, you can still embed macros in lists in the Legacy editor. The Legacy editor is available as a separate template on some older Confluence Cloud sites, as in my example below:

If you do not have the Legacy editor template, you can create a ticket with the Atlassian support team and request that we enable it on your Cloud site. If you have any difficulty making that support ticket, can you let me know? I'm happy to help create it for you.

Take care, and I hope you have a nice day!
