Information pannel

What is the purpose of th information pannel?
On the previous version of Confluence it was able to insert tables inside the information pannel, and on this new version it's not possible.

The information panel can be used in a variety of ways. Most commonly I see it used as a quick summary for what the page is about (TL;DR), instructions on how the page should be used, or a status e.g. page is under construction.
