Inline comment writing is unavailable on child pages. Why?

Hello,

Can anyone explain why inline comment writing is available on the parent pages of a particular Confluence space...

but from its child pages, inline commenting is unavailable? There are no other (visible) page restrictions, I can edit the pages, and I can add end of page comments. It just the inline commenting option is missing.

Update 1:

I did some more digging and I discovered something very odd. It appears that inline commenting is only available on pages with no attachments. I'm really puzzled b/c only this phenomenon seems to only apply to this space.

Update 2:

On an attachment-free page, where inline commenting works, I edited the page and added an attachment (image), but after saving, inline commenting was still available.

So, I am at a loss to explain what causes inline commenting to become disabled.

Thank  you,
Shawn

Fault Found!

It appears that by employing the Multimedia Macro (Confluence Cloud), the inline comment option becomes disabled.

There is even a ticket which covers this issue:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONFCLOUD-64738

Still researching.
