Dear Atlassian Support Team,

I am writing to inquire about specific functionalities related to Atlassian Intelligence and the Define feature in Confluence. Below are my questions:

  1. Highlighting Terms with Atlassian Intelligence

    • How can I identify which terms will display a colored underline and show explanations when using Atlassian Intelligence?
    • Is it possible to define these terms manually? For example, I would like the word "Jira" to have a colored underline, and when hovered over, it shows a tooltip with a gray background. Additionally, I would like it to open a detailed explanation when clicked.
  2. Relation between Define Feature and Atlassian Intelligence

    • Is the Define feature related to the functionality mentioned in Question 1?
    • When I create a definition using the Define feature, I notice the text does not automatically show a colored underline. Instead, I have to click on the Define option to view the content I set up. Can you clarify if this behavior is intended or if there are other ways to make these definitions more visible in the text?

Thank you for your assistance. I look forward to your response.

Hi @DA10 MHChang3

Please find the insight of Highlighting Terms and Define Feature

Highlighting Terms - Atlassian Intelligence automatically defines and highlights terms based on their frequency and relevance within your Confluence site, but it does not allow manual specification of terms to be highlighted. You cannot manually define terms like "Jira" to have a colored underline and a tooltip with a detailed explanation. To influence definitions, ensure terms are well-defined and frequently used in your Confluence content. For more control, consider using custom macros or scripts, though this is outside standard Atlassian Intelligence functionality.

Define Feature - The Define feature in Confluence allows manual definition of terms, but it does not automatically apply a colored underline; users must click on the Define option to view the definition. This behavior is intended and separate from Atlassian Intelligence's automatic term highlighting. To make definitions more visible, you would need to manually highlight or emphasize the terms in your text. The automatic highlighting feature of Atlassian Intelligence is AI-driven and not directly tied to manual definitions.

Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
