The Insert Jira Issue macro so far allowed to create some neat ticket stats and by manually adjusting the reference to JQL or XML it also displayed zero values and total ticket count when none or only 1 issue are within the filter range.
With our current version combo (confluence 5.1 + Jira 6.0.3) this does not work anymore. A filter result with zero tickets cannot be displayed at all and results with 1 ticket only as a complete key instead of a total number. The Display Options do not allow to modify this in any way.
That makes it effectively impossible to create any meaningful summaries or reports. With the very limited reporting capacity in Jira this has a significant impact on applicability.
If you experience a similar problem and if you found a workaround it would be great if you could share it. Thanks.
You could try to use wiki markup:
To display table:
{jiraissues:url=https://jira.atlassian.com/sr/jira.issueviews:searchrequest-xml/temp/SearchRequest.xml?jqlQuery=project+%3D+CONF+and+text+%7E+%22jira+issue%22&tempMax=1000|renderMode=static}
To display count:
{jiraissues:url=https://jira.atlassian.com/sr/jira.issueviews:searchrequest-xml/temp/SearchRequest.xml?jqlQuery=project+%3D+CONF+and+text+%7E+%22jira+issue%22&tempMax=1000|count=true}

Hi Sirko,
Thanks for your feedback. We recently upgraded the JIRA Issues Macro, and have received a lot of feedback about this issue. We're working to fix it now and are tracking it at https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-30117. We'll update the issue with a fix version to let you know when it's available.
As a workaround for the moment, you can still use the old version of the macro with the parameters you want by using wiki markup. Please let me know if you'd like more details on how to do that.
Thanks,
Anna

Hi Sirko
You could add the jira dashboard gadgets to your confluence macro's as an external gadget provider as explained here : https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Adding+JIRA+Gadgets+to+a+Confluence+Page
That shoud give you a way to show filter results with 0 values.
Best regards,
Peter

Thanks for the directions Peter! It may take a bit to try this out but I will report back if this is sufficient for the purpose.
Cheers,
Sirko

Hi Folks,
unfortunately this is still pending. Jira Gadgets do not work properly for us in Confluence and our Sys Admins are currently in touch with Atlassian tech support.
Cheers
