Hello,
I see it is possible to integrate independant forum inside Confluence like explained on the step 4 of this page :
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DISC/Confluence+as+a+Forum
It says to use include page macro to integrate it. Unfortunely, include page macro permit only to integrate existing Confluence page, no external forum installation.
Question is, is there a way to integrate and embed the forum inside a Confluence Page ?
Another question can be How to secure the forums and give Confluence ability to open protected forums?
By managing users with Crowd maybe ?
Thanks a lot for help.
Hello,
I think you may wish to use are html-include macro that can be switched on using the document below.
https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/DOC/Enabling+the+html-include+Macro
This will allow you to embed pages external to Confluence within a Confluence page.
I think that the solution of how to secure these forum pages would vary on the type of forum software. I would only be able to speculate at the integration point without knowing the particulars of your forum software.
I would encourage you to look at products available in our marketplace that already have tight integration with Confluence. Community bubbles is often the solution I direct customers. Have you had a chance to try this plugin? They offer a 30 day free trial to help you see if it will meet your needs. It ties deeply into the permission schemes already available in Confluence and provides a way to secure content.

Community Bubbles is what I use actually and do not have all forums functions we need, like an admin interface and some. It is free actually, so no 30 days try.
Ok for html plugin, that could help.
I'm looking for example phpBB, which have possibility to share users using Crowd as I can see maybe ?
What I can do instead of embed the forum in a confluence page is making a navigation menu like on this page :
http://tracker.phpbb.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa
But don't know for example in JIRA how to modify header to integrate this kind of menu. I'll have to do this (creating tabs) as well for Confluence, Hipchat, and FishEye.
