Is it possible to have multiple instances of Jira integrate with the same confluence instance, and what are the limitations in doing so. this is for the data centre versions.
Yes you can link multiple JIRA instances to the same Confluence instance. I do not see any limitation.

Hi, thanks for the speedy response, what about plugins that interact with Jira such as custom charts, would those still work when there are multiple instance to one Confluence?

Most of them will need your users who are using them to tell them which Jira you want to interact with. For existing interactions, they'll assume the first one you connected until told otherwise.

I do not know about every apps but you can test it before doing it. I have multiple JIRA instances link to my Confluence instance and there is no issues but I do not use this app.
If you have JIRA Gadget into Confluence added using an app, it has to be managed by the company who develop it.
On my side I usually add them as External gadget directly for each instance. There is no issues about it except that in the macro list you will have to over on Gadget URL link to know where the gadget come from and it occasionally lead to support request from users who are not able to find there filter because they selected the chart gadget from the wrong instance.
