Is Ad Hoc workflows messing with our Google Analytics setup

James Fehon [CP Alliance Web Team] February 28, 2014

I've noticed a variable sent to our Google Analytics account which we didn't set.

It's Custom Variable 1 Key:username, Value:[a random? number]

Is this the mechanism Comalatech use for usage stats, and why isn't it turned off when I opt out of sending this!!

Hi James,

Sorry for the late response, Answers didn't notify me of this post.

Just to let you know that we made some changes in Ad hoc Workflows 4.3.7 that isolates our Google Analytics use with different JS variable names. Please give it a try and let us know if you have any further issues.

Thanks,
Miguel

I'm guessinfg that you've already upgraded to the latest version of the AdHoc Workflows add-on.

As you probably know Ad Hoc Workflows adds its own Google Analytics tracking by default. You can disable this by visiting Confluence Admin > Workflows (section) > Configuration > and then disable "Send Anonymous Usage Statistics"

If you've already disabled anonymous usage stats, then perhaps your version of Ad Hoc Workflows isn't smart enough to disable any of its custom GA codes.
