Is is possible to assign a group to a spaces view space permissions using the CLI plugin

For instance it would be great if there were a function something like this

confluence --action addGroupToSpace --title "patsgroup" --space "test1"

In addition, the command itself would look something like this in your case:

confluence --action addPermissions --space "<SPACE>" --group "<GROUP>" --permissions "VIEWSPACE"
