Hi,
We would like to hide the left navigation in a wiki space for certain user groups. Is it possible to do this in the Confluence settings?
I am able to disable the left nav for all users via Space Tools > Configure sidebar
...but this is for all users.
Thanks
Hi @Xiang Zhang ,
Just to add to what Humashankar said, there's a feature request related to additional options when using global sidebar customization: CONFCLOUD-72549: Additional sidebar configuration options so you might want to take a look at that one too.
EDIT: my bad - this one is for cloud and it seems there isn't one for DC. You can always reach out to Atlassian Support and discuss your requirements with them and they might raise a new feature request for you.
Cheers,
Tobi
Hi @Xiang Zhang
The standard interface and permission settings don't offer the option to hide the left navigation sidebar for specific users or groups.
Besides, exploring alternative workarounds may not be the most efficient use of your time.
The most effective approach might be to submit a feature request, allowing you to formally suggest this functionality for future development.
Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards

You can experiment with customizing CSS.
Back in my server days, we used this approach to hide certain elements of the UI.
