Is it possible to hide the search bar?

We have the search bar with the page tree in the left frame. What we would like to do is hide the search bar for one space. The reason is that all pages are above the entry point of the page tree and that no pages are inside this part of the tree. We only have pages that contain a kind of directory (content by label) so that one page can appear in different branches of the tree depending on the labels. Because of this it is not possible to search in this tree and therefore we would either like to hide the line or find a possibility to start the search above the tree.

I hope I have described the situation clearly.

Thanks for your input,

Bruce

Assuming you are using the documentation theme, in Browse => Space Admin => Themes => Configure Theme you could either:

  • enable Limit search results to the current space to disable the search bar in the left frame and limit the search results of the top right search field to the current space
  • or disable the Page Tree option to hide the default searchfield & pagetree and add your own navigation controls with the pagetree search or pagetree macros.

Hope this helps

To display the favorite spaces of the current user use the following markup:

{spaces:favourite}

Thanks a lot, that helps us. Right now I am trying to add the users favorite spaces to the navigation. Is that also possible? I tried with favpages but that only displays pages and not the spaces. What we want to keep are the favorite spaces to be able to navigate fast.
