Is there a Reserve document option/feature in Confluence?

scenario would be a document that is updated by different people, someone would check the doc out (reserve) make changes and then check the updated document back in. Or at least show the document is currently reserved so others can tell someone is actively making updates to the doc.

Not that I know of. You can do it system wide by turning off collaborative editing in the admin console.
