Is there a way to recover deleted calendar items?

Is it possible to see what changed in a calendar?
Usually a watcher sees what changes, but in this case there wasn't any?

Is there a calendar history?

Actually, that is not possible yet. We don't have a feature that would record the data like an audit log.
However, I could find that this is a feature request already open as you can see here:

I would strongly suggest that you vote on this issue to increase its popularity and add it to your watchlist for future updates.
