Hi,
I have the following situation:
We are asking our eng teams to use a template before starting to work on bigger projects - this template we have defined as global template within our confluence. As this is not only done by just filling out the document but also includes reviews by other teams we thought it would be a good idea to automatically trigger this review whenever such a document (that we labeled by the way) is moving into the status "Ready for Review" the teams that need to the review will get notified.
Actually I can't set up such a rule as the the status change can't be checked when the rule is global. How can I solve this issue here?
Best Sabine
As an alternative for status and notification automation for your workflow, Better Content Archiving and Analytics allows you to create a workflow automation that sends out your custom notification message about pages that are "ready to review" to the right group of people, asking them to approve and take action (like change the Confluence page status to "Up-to-date" or "Approved").
Check out this video for how to set up notifications:

Are you speaking of Confluence Server or Cloud? I ask because both product types are assigned to your post.

You're right that Confluence's global automation rules currently don't support tracking status changes in a global template.
Depending on your team's requirements. For straightforward workflows, leveraging labels and automation rules can be an effective solution, For more complex workflows, integrating Jira or utilizing third-party apps like Comala Document Management may be an option to explore.
Hope this helps - Happy to help further!!
Thank you very much and have a great one!
Warm regards
