Is there a way to wildcard search both text and user mentions?

Hi,

We have multiple confluence pages set up in a space with various team members names and roles in various formats. Some pages use text for the names while others use mentions.

Is there a way to wildcard search a portion of someones name and have results returned of all pages the term is found?

For example, I'd like to search for "Bob" and have "Bob Smith", "Bob Jones", "@Bob.Smith", and "@Bob.Jones" all be returned.

Is there a macro that helps accomplish this? Can the query be structed in CQL?

So the workaround I used was to make a table with each row dedicated to a different page then used the 'page include' macro to include a copy of each page I wanted to look at on each row, then I wrapped the whole table in a 'table filter' macro and enabled global filtering.

This lets me type in a name into the global filter and have the page where that name is found get surfaced on the table.

Not exactly elegant, but it works. If anyone has a better solution though I'm all ears!

Hi @Bob Jordan ,

Unfortunately I only saw your entry now. Perhaps you are interested in a real enterprise search solution for Confluence.

iFinder Confluence Search is available at Atlassian Marketplace. and you can start directly with a trial.

Wildcard search is possible and many other search operators and filters are available. You can also save the search in the dashboard or generate a link. With this link you can make your preconfigured search available to your colleagues (according to their user rights).

Our article in the Atlassian community will give you more information. If you like a demo first, please contact us at atlassian@intrafind.com

Best regards
