This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: HTML Macro
I want to use the HTML macro to do some customization on Confluence pages, but I'd like this macro to be restricted to only system administrators. I know some macros can be restricted by user rights. Can this macro be restricted?
Hey Paul
I don't think you can. You could create a user macro (the safer way to use the HTML macro anyway, if you ask me) and make that a hidden macro (not accessible through the macro browser). Make sure you only communicate the name of the hidden macro to admins, not other users.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Maggie
Thanks Maggie! Good to hear from you again. Hope things are well.

You can use a replacement HTML Macro from HTML for Confluence. This macro can be secured using Macro Security for Confluence. Configure security so only system administrators can produce content that uses the html macro.
