We're getting the following error when we hook up one of our Active Directory servers to Confluence. The VPN is set up correctly, and the directory is working in other applications. Does anyone know what's causing this error?
Connection test failed. Response from the server:¶
qtscl2.invision.com:389; nested exception is javax.naming.CommunicationException: qtscl2.invision.com:389 [Root exception is java.net.UnknownHostException: qtscl2.invision.com]
Hi Paul
If you can ping it by ip and not be hostname -> make an entry in your hosts file
If you can ping it, but the telnet is not working -> check your firewall
Regards
Steve
We can ping it. I'm in charge of the content on Confluence, I'll have to follow up with the Sys Admin guys to ask about the telnet test. Thanks
