Confluence is a completely different application that serves a different purpose.

confluence is a wiki while Jira is an issue tracking application. The two work well together. Confluence is often used to provide context for projects while the detailed tasks are tracked in Jira.

there is a great deal more to understand about the applications but this is well documented and presented at the Atlassian website and would encourage you to visit there.

@Fahad Kamal I agree with what Jack has mentioned.

You can also go through this link to understand how the Jira/Confluence integration can help transforms the way your team collaborate on projects.

@Fahad Kamal

Welcome to Confluence!

Conceptually: Jira is your task management area. Jira issues are things that need to be done, and Jira helps you manage these.
Confluence is the place for all the background information that helps your team do these tasks. Like:

  1. A support team will use a service desk project to manage the support tickets. They will also keep a confluence space with recipes, troubleshooting guides, run books, and any other reference information that the support team can use to solve support tickets quicker.

  2. A software team works on a large new feature that is broken down into many Jira issues. They will maintain in Confluence information about the user Persona,  the software architecture, guidelines for UX design, tone of voice for UX writing, etc. They will also keep in Confluence the minutes of their retro meetings, and recordings of the sprint demo meetings.

Hope these examples help to illustrate the idea,
