Are they 2 different softwares? Is there anyway to combine them? I created workspaces in Jira during a trial but was told that incorporating confluence would greatly benefit running a successful agile scrum software space. Please let me know how i can combine the two or easily navigate thru the 2 for reports and communications.

@Michele Lopez Confluence is a great place to start planning your projects and defining requirements. All of that can quickly be turned into a story in Jira.

This documentation has lots of details.
