Licence after upgrade confluence

Hello,

I wanna try to upgrade confluence from 5.7.4 to the latest 6.x.

But my current license has expired.

Atlassian says "please update your license in Confluence before performing the upgrade"

May I do the upgrade before renew license ?

Yes, you need to update the license in Confluence before performing the upgrade. Otherwise, the upgrade will fail. Please go to https://my.atlassian.com and provide the necessary Confluence details and generate the evaluation license for now. This license will be valid for 29 days and then proceed for upgrade .

Can I be sure that upgrade will be a success and that I do not loose my data? 

Otherwise, can I roll back to my previous license?
