Links on Confluence Doc don't auto populate on Jira ticket

Currently I create tickets in Jira, then use the Jira macro to embed them in a Confluence doc. I would expect to be able to open the Jira ticket and see the reference back to that doc it is mentioned in. It does not. Is there a setting I don't have turned on? I don't want to do this manually every time. thanks you in advance!

Can you try copy pasting the issue url in to confluence page? This usually handles auto convert to macro and also link it
