In Confluence, by default, a new version of the document is created each time the document is saved.
How to enable manual creation of a new version of the document and disable the automatic creation of a new version of the document?
The task is to accumulate changes in the document and when approving changes, only then create a new version of the document.
Hi @Sergey Bruy,
If you are a Confluence Cloud user, Scroll Document Versions (an app from K15t Software) would be useful in your scenario.
With Scroll Document Versions, you can manually create versions of documents in Confluence, and compare those versions either with one another, or with the document's current state.
In your situation, for example, you could compare the current version of your document with the last approved version of that document, giving you a clear overview of all the changes made since the last approval. After approval, you could then save a new version, recording the newly-approved content.
For an introduction to working with document versions, see our get started guide at https://help.k15t.com/scroll-document-versions/cloud/get-started-123539439.html, and if you have any questions, please reach out to us at support@k15t.com at any time.
Cheers, Tom.
Hi Sergey,
you can't disable the creation of a new version. Every time, you save your page, there is a new version.
There are some apps for implementing approvals in Confluence, e.g. Comala Publishing, Comala Workflows, Page Approval, and there might be some more.

Thanks for bringing our apps up, @Thomas Schlegel!
@Sergey Bruy Comalatech apps like Comala Workflows help you better control Confluence publishing - this video explains things nicely: https://vimeo.com/243793433
