I have a page with multiple attachments, with different file names, which are really revisions of the same attachment. This happened because of instead of uploading new versions of the file, someone edited the page and uploaded a new revision with a new file name. There are multiple figures on this page with multiple revisions. Is there a way to take multiple file attachments and stack them up as revisions under a single file name, and importantly, control their order so I can have a clean revision history?

This is also my question also.  Since no answer, assuming you can't merge two attachment histories.  It would be at least nice for someone to confirm impossibility.

That's exactly my question! Too bad there's no answer yet.
