Hi,
I am pretty competent using Confluence, admin features, addons and building using Linux, Postgres and also Windows. Having used for over 5 years.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best use Confluence on AWS for multiple clients. Using the same base site with preinstalled addons, templates and pages.
In essence I have a Confluence 'templated' instance with a set of pre-installed addons and connections to external 'static' data.
What I need to do is duplicate that complete instance including existing data and then make some minor adjustments such as user accounts and customising look and feel for a customer.
Ideally using AWS i should be able to copy / paste the 'snapshot' to a new customer to set up the base instance.
Currently all I can see this the 'server id' will change. My current issue is how to handle this so that the new server licence and especially addons will apply to that customer.
My concern is that there may be something else behind the scenes that might stop this from working.
I have considered having multiple spaces and sectioning clients accordingly. However due to the nature the client sites must be independent and also based in London.
One thought I had had was to create the default deployment and then just import and base lined database. Would this work?
It seems simple on the face if it, but because of serverids I'm thinking their will be issues.
Any help appreciated
Steve
hi,
if the server id is all that will allow a full replica to run, then that is fine.
So what would happen with urls. will they still map to pageids.
Regards
Steve
If your focus is changing the server id from what I understood then have a look at this: https://confluence.atlassian.com/confkb/how-to-change-the-server-id-of-confluence-211649693.html
If not can you clarify what information you require?
Thanks.
