Multiple links on a picture

Ermira Hoxha October 24, 2023

Hi,

how is it possible to add multiple links on a picture Screenshot or smth like this? (Not with drawio or Image Mapping)

I remember once seeing a picture in a Confluence where multiple links were added (with Coordination and Anchor or smth). Unfortunatelly  do not remember how it excatly worked.

Thanks for hints and ideas

Hey Ermira, welcome to the community! :)

I am unaware of any way to solve this problem natively in Confluence. The third-party applications you mentioned, such as draw.io and our own Scroll Imagemap, are the solutions that are widely known and available on multiple platforms. 🤔

Hey Max, thank you!! :)

Hmm okay, thank you for answering!

I know there is definitely a way to do it that way, but unfortunately I don't remember the exact way :/

@Ermira Hoxha , trust me on this. You cannot. 😄 Not without third-party apps. Maybe you found one of our older videos about Scroll Imagemap on Youtube showing how to configure the macro and mentioning coordinates:

Another one I just found is Brikit Theme Press for Confluence, which seems to come with a macro that matches your description using coordinates. However, using a full-blown theming app might be too much for your specific need. 😅

Hi Emira,

I know exactly what you are referring to. This is a standard feature of Confluence Server and Data Center (not available in Cloud) and looks like this:

In page view mode simply click on an image and then drag and drop the comment icon from the bottom bar to the needed place in your image.

If you would like to make your pages look more engaging please check out the #1 top rated formatting app Aura. Maybe this will help you in other situations. It's free for up to 10 users.

Best regards

Hey @Jan Kuntscher - appanvil - Aura Karma Mantra

I have an ask to you regarding the Partner Guidelines. Can you please adjust your profile so that the partner name is visible as a part of your user name? And if you promote your own apps in replies in the community, it is also appreciated if you make it transparent that you are talking about your own product. Especially if they are not adding to the question. I appreciate your understanding. :)

Best, Max

Dear Max,

The company I represent was evident from my signature. Nonetheless, I've updated my public name for further clarity.

Warm regards

Hey @Jan Kuntscher - appanvil - Aura Karma Mantra ,

I see your point, and it might be evident to you. 🙂 Still, it is not for everyone in the community. So, to help you, I have referred you to the official guidelines. Additionally, you can request your Marketplace Partner Lozenge for the community from there. The link is in the text. And it's just easy to forget a manual signature (as it's not a built-in feature) or one's association with the recommended apps, as in your other recent posts.

Best, Max

Hi @Ermira Hoxha . Although you already wrote that your intention is to not use third party vendor apps to achieve your goal, I at least like to point out how it is done in draw.io (as you also mentioned our app):

  1. Embed a blank draw.io diagram macro on your Confluence page
  2. Click View > Background > Change in the global formatting panel on the right
  3. Choose an image of your choice
  4. Place shapes on your canvas that match the area that you want your users to click on
  5. Secondary mouseclick on that shape enables you to choose Edit Link
  6. Now select, if you like to link to an intern/external URL, an attachment, a diagram tab or a Confluence header
  7. Now select all the shapes you put on top of your background image and uncheck the boxes for Fill and Line in the format panel on the right

This tutorial is meant to help you and the community in case you already have draw.io in place or plan to purchase a diagramming tool anyway. Take care.
