My Confluence macros lost the edit (pencil) icon.

My Confluence macros are not displaying the edit icon. I can add the macros to a Confluence page but the only functionality is the narrow/ wide screen icons to adjust the width displayed on the page. This is strange because the edit (pencil) icon was there. I tried deleting/ uninstalling the apps and recreating them. I am downloading the example apps. I know some macros do not have the edit capability. But the examples that do have this function are not displaying the edit icon.

It may or may not be related, but my apps also stopped showing up in the manage apps page.

I am following the tutorials just like before. What happened???

This was a old question without an answer,  i have the same problem. 

The Macro i try to edit is "Change History" macro, but no "pencil" icon.  I have full rights to the space.
